Product: ChemDraw
Product: ChemDraw
Problem:
After downloading the latest 12.0.3 Mac ChemDraw / ChemBioDraw installer, I am still being asked to register the product each time I open it. How do I resolve this problem?
Solution:
First uninstall version 12.0/12.0.2 after 12.0/12.0.2 is uninstalled, please install 12.0.3 update by the following way.
Locate the ChemDraw Items folder located and make a back up of any Stationery files or Templates that you created.
Please do a search on the hard drive by the following way to get the plist files corresponding to ChemDraw/ChemBioDraw:
- In the Macintosh Finder go to the File menu and select Find
- In the search box type com.cambridgesoft this will find at least two files
- com.cambridgesoft.ChemDraw.plist (at Macintosh HD\users\[username]\library\preferences)
- com.cambridgesoft.plist (at Macintosh HD\library\preferences)
- com.cambridgesoft.[long string of numbers].plist (present at Macintosh HD\users\adminusername\library\preferences\byhost
- ChemDraw Items (folder)
- Toolbars (folder)
- chemdraw 80.xpt
- CS ChemDraw Pro
Now empty your trash and then download the appropriate ChemDraw 12.0.3 (or ChemBioDraw 12.0.3) installer from the following link, save the file on your desktop and try the installation.

[Please note that you will need to move any Stationery documents or Templates you backed up into this new location [Please note, the location of the ChemDraw Items folder has changed in this version. The new location is located here:Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/CambridgeSoft/CS ChemOffice 2010/ChemDraw Items].
