Product: ChemDraw
I have to reregister each time I launch ChemDraw.
In ChemDraw 4 and above, if the chemdraw.ini (located in the Windows folder) is either set to read-only or in a location that is read-only, this will occur. You need to have full access to this file, as it contains the registration info.
In ChemDraw 3.x, if you set your CD_ITEMS_PATH variable in your win.ini to a CD_ITEMS directory on a RAM Disk, you will have to re-register ChemDraw every time you launch it. The same will occur if the win.ini is set to read-only or in a location that is read-only.
If you are a network administrator, and have "pushed" ChemDraw to your workstations, and users are having to register the first time they launch, please contact technical support.
Windows 3.x users: If you are using version 1.15 or 1.15a of Win32s, this problem will occur. Win32s version 1.2 fixes the reregistration problem. To see what version of Win32s you are using, go to your file manager, and open Windows/System/Win32s.ini file in a text editor. Contact Microsoft about obtaining a win32s.
