I'm trying to install ChemOffice, but about 70% of the way through the Copying Files task I get "internal error 2359".
It is possible that our installer is trying to install the ChemFinder for Excel and/or ChemCombi Add-in and can't because Excel or part of MS Office is on a write-protected drive (where write protected is being defined as a read-only directory or drive or as the user account not having permissions to write to that location). If you have MS Office on any write-protected drives, you should do a custom install and NOT install ChemFinder for Excel and or ChemCombi Add-in. To get the ChemFinder for Excel and CombiChem Add-ins to install, download and unzip the following file:
See the unzipped ReadMe file for instructions on installing the Add-Ins.
Otherwise, we will need you to generate a log file to figure out what is going on. To generate a log file:
Go to the Start Menu and choose Run, and then type the following (substitute Pro for Ultra if you are installing the Pro version):
msiexec /i "D:\INSTALL\CS ChemOffice Ultra 2000.Msi" /l*v log.log
where "D" is the letter of your cd-rom drive containing the ChemOffice Ultra cd-rom. Then click OK to generate the log file. The installation log file that gets generated is called log.log. Use the Windows Find File utility to find it, and then send it to firstname.lastname@example.org
