Solution:
Issue while Excel Section rendering in 11.0.4.24-20.3
Issue Explanation:
- Table never seems to exceed half the page width of the exported MS-Word file, even if the table is very broad (let’s say 40 columns) and small in length (7 rows). In excel we have page settings defining Fit to 1 page Width and Fit to 1000 pages Length (enforcing tables not being split up in width).
- But if Export to PDF: Everything works fine, meaning the full page width is being used.
- After importing the excel document into the ELN MS Excel section.
- Click on “File” menu > Select “Page Setup”.
- Select “Sheet” tab.
- Change “Comment:” option to “As displayed on sheet”. (This will render the excel sheet as it appears on the screen. However, this has to be set to every sheet in the excel document)
- If in case after performing step #4: you observe data loss when last cell contains more data than it fits in the cell as it’s displayed, you would need to change the “Comment:” option to “At end of sheet”
- Try to “Export to word”.
Workable steps to export the Excel to word:
FYI:
This issue is observed only in ELN 11.0.4.24-20.3 and 21.5 Patch (Patch 19.x works just fine)
