E-Notebook 11: Slow performance on login
Some customers observe that the first login in the morning (or after an IISRESET) is very slow (> 2 min).
All E-Notebook customers where the E-Notebook middle tier server has no direct connection to the Internet (or need a proxy configuration to connect to the Internet).
This performance issue - actually, this is a .NET Framework bug , the workaround is described in a Microsoft KB article.
The workaround is editing the .NET "aspnet.config" file located in the .NET folder (usually: "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet.config"), adding the following lines to this configuration file:
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2) installed.
Adding these lines to the ELN "web.config" or "ENClientConfig.xml" files has no effect on the ELN 11 login performance. These lines are available in the ELN web.config file in any default installation anyway.
Other performance issues (like browsing in the collection tree) will NOT be affected by this configuration change.
