Spotfire Diagnostics display 'Unsupported version' for DirectX
DirectX version under "Spotfire Analyst Client > Help > Support Diagnostics and Logging" displays "Unsupported version" even though there is a supported version of DirectX, which can be checked using the DXDiag tool, installed on the machine.
Here is a sample screenshot:
The registry key settings that DirectX uses is only for version 9.0 and this is the version that Spotfire tends to pickup. This creates a conflict in the Spotfire diagnostics, though it may not cause any issues with the 3D graphs used as long as the DXDIAG (can be used from 'Start > Run' prompt in Windows) displays the supported version.
Note that the DLL's for individual DirectX versions can be found in the C:\Windows\system32 folder (look for d3d*.dll). http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-pictures/where-to-find-directx-11-registry-keys/92f280f9-1a4a-4823-840c-1cedacc20df8
