The 0xc0000142 error is caused by a malfunction or a corruption within the program. Possible causes for this error include incorrectly registered DLL files, incompatible DLLs, or another program preventing Spotfire from running such as a security application. While there may be a few reasons for this issue, the following steps can be performed:
- Uninstall then re-install the TIBCO Spotfire installed client
- Launch Windows Update and repair any obvious errors.
- Identify the program that is preventing Spotfire from running, then uninstall or disable that program. If you have any security applications or any newly installed programs, try uninstalling those. For example, this can occur when the "Entrusted Search Protect" toolbar is installed. To resolve, uninstall the "Entrusted Search Protect" toolbar.
