CDAX in Lead Discovery, what would happen if a user does not have Active X control install in their PC
The CDAX for Lead Discovery is not only mean renderer and editor, we also invoke its APIs to do structure format convert. This means without CDAX, most structure related features will be disabled:
• structure search
• structure filter
• Export to SDF
• Export to ChemDraw for Excel
But structure still can be rendered if user installed other company renderer. Also it has been confirmed that the Structure property calculation continue working since it only depends on CoreChemistryCLR
Lead Discovery only has one package “LeadDiscovery.spk”. This package contains a CDAX installer, it will automatically execute CDAX installation during Spotfire startup if LeadDiscovery detected there is no CDAX already installed.
For end-users that don’t like the automatic installation behavior, or want to install other version of CDAX: LeadDiscovery can support CDAX from 12 to 15.
Lead Discovery also comes with a release in the second package “LeadDiscovery_ NoCDAX.spk”. The only difference with “LeadDiscovery.spk” is it doesn’t contain the CDAX installer.
If CDAX is not installed, an end-user will see below message box to inform that there are some feature disabled. If they don’t want to see the message again, just check the “Do not show this message again”.
Perkin Elmer officially support the renderer versions mentioned in the system requirement:
• ChemDraw ActiveX Enterprise 12
• ChemDraw ActiveX Enterprise 13
• ChemDraw ActiveX Enterprise 14
• ChemDraw ActiveX Enterprise 15 (Did compatible test in LD7.1)
• Accelrys Accord Chemistry Control 6.0, 6.2 and 7.0
• Accelrys Draw (formerly known as Symyx/MDL Draw) Enterprise Edition 3.2, 3.3, 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2
• ChemAxon Marvin View 5.11.x
• IDBS ChemIQ 7.2
Perkin Elmer don’t hard code supported version info in source code, it means whether the higher version can continue be compatible with Lead Discovery depends on the changes of the higher version renderer itself.
