Product: ChemDraw
While trying to edit the embedded ChemDraw objects by double clicking on ChemDraw image in Word for Mac (as well as PowerPoint for Mac) does not open the objects in ChemDraw and got the following error message. What can I do to fix this problem?
Server application, source file, or element not found.
Make sure that the application is installed correctly, and that it has not been deleted, moved, or renamed
Do you mean that the ChemDraw structures/objects in Word/PowerPoint cannot be double clicked to edit? If so, than that is correct. There is no such thing as OLE editing on Mac (this is a Windows technology).
OLE a graphic linking protocol used to edit the embedded structures/objects within Word/PowerPoint (in MS Office application for Windows). Early in Word 5.x and below a similar protocol (EGO) used to edit the embedded objects in MS Office for Mac application. However that was removed from Word 6.0 for Mac and Microsoft does not appear to support Macintosh OLE development any longer.
So the only way to edit the embedded structures/objects from MS Word (for Mac) MS PowerPoint (for Mac) , you need to copy and paste between ChemDraw Mac and Word/PowerPoint
