I can't print ChemDraw documents to my non AppleTalk network printer.
If the printer you are trying to print to is controlled by a non-AppleTalk network, the PostScript header information contained in the Laser prep file can't be downloaded by using the Initialize Laser Printer command.
The simplest solution is to always check the "Include ChemDraw LaserPrep" preference. This will include all the PostScript commands necessary for printing everywhere they are needed, at a cost of about 9Kb per picture.
Alternatively, you can create a ChemDraw Postscript header file containing the appropriate information for printing to a non-AppleTalk network printer. This file will need to be transferred to the other network and downloaded to the non-AppleTalk printer directly from there. Speak with your network adminstrator to learn how to do so.
To create the necessary PostScript header file: 1) Create a blank ChemDraw document. 2) Save the document as EPS (text) 3) Open the file within Teach text. 4) At the beginning of the file, delete the lines of information beginning with the line that reads %!PS to the line that reads %%BeginProcSet! (leave this line at the top of the file). 5) At the end of the file, delete the lines of information beginning after %%EndProcSet through the end of the file. 6) Save the file. 7) Download this file to the non-AppleTalk network printer.
