ChemDraw 17.1 - Atom Number stuck to the Molecule - How to move?
Hello all,
Grad student in organic chemistry here. I am writing up my experimental part and I have a problem concerning ChemDraw. I am displaying atom numbers every few atoms to make clear how I would like to number my molecules for NMR assignment. How can I prevent the Atom numbering label to be stuck to the Atom itself? I want to be able to move the text Box with the numbering with the keyboard as it was possible in the past to make sure the number goes where I want..
I Would be really excited for some help
Best,
J.

We are not sure how you are trying have the number (i.e all the atoms or selected atoms persent in the ring or the main chain or all the atoms present in the Ring or main chain).
If you are planning to have the atom number for selected atoms then it is not possible.
Currently you can have the numbers for all the atoms persent in the main chain or the ring (other than Hydrogen atom and the other atom present in the side chain. You need to select the "Display IUPAC Atom Numbers on S2N/N2S" checkbox (in the Preferences dialog box under "Building/Display"). .

Hello, I'm doing my Organic Chemisty report for Royal Agricultural University (a Ph.D. student from Cirencester). I'm running ChemDraw 17.1 and it numbers the carbon atoms automatically. How can I prevent it from doing this?

Make sure that the "Display IUPAC Atom Numbers on S2N/N2S" checkbox (in the Preferences dialog box under "Building/Display") unchecked. You will get more information from the following FAQ.
