ChemDraw can't locate item folder
Hello, I am a PhD student in RWTH Aachen University and I recentely bought a new laptop. I copied on my new laptop my student version of ChemOffice2010 and I launched ChemDraw.
I was expecting the program was going to ask me the activation/ registration codes but something helse happened: a window opened asking me "Please locate the ChemDraw Items folder (wich contains your isotopes table, etc.)" I was able to browse between folders, but I wasn't able to get the correct one, the answer was always "ChemDraw is unable to run without valid ChemDraw Items and Toolbar folders. Please check the locations of these folders and restart ChemDraw"
I also tried to open some ChemDraw files, but the request of ChemDraw was always the same.
Do someone knows where is this ChemDraw Items folder?
Thank-you very much in advance.

Assuming you have ChemBioOffice Ultra 2010 suite (v12) for Windows and trying to launch ChemBioDraw Ultra 12.0.x or ChemDraw 12.0.x application on your Windows machine. If so, default location is
For Windows XP:
“C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CambridgeSoft\ChemOffice2010\ChemDraw\ChemDraw Items”
For Windows Vista and Windows 7
C:\Program Data\CambridgeSoft\ChemOffice2010\ChemDraw\ChemDraw Items”
Launch ChemBioDraw/ChemDraw application, it will ask you point the ChemDraw Items folder, just browse to the above location and click the OK button.0 -
First of all, thank-you very much for your help.
My laptop is using Windos 8.1, so I suppose I have to use the settings for Windows 7 (usually when a program is compatible with a version of Windows, it is also with the following ones).
I created the ChemDraw Item folder inside the ChemDraw one, but the program is not able to recognize it, probably some file is missing: I suppose a problem occurred during the file trasfert or the download, so I have to download it again.
I am going to do it in a while and see what's happening.

Also E-Notebook is not supported on Windows 8 as well as Windows 8.1, so we recommend to use a supported OS.0 -
Hello, we've been using Biovia Draw and ChemSketch for our intern projects (I'm a PhD student at Sofia University in Bulgaria) and occasionally ChemDraw. Is it possible to install ChemBioDraw Ultra 12 on Windows 10?
I have just checked the Site Subscription list for a free educational usage and my university is not listed there.
