Chemdraw (all versions) DMT protecting group
Hi,
Whenever I try to use DMTCl, or DMT-Cl, the program does not recognize 4,4'-Dimethoxytrityl chloride. It has no problem with most protecting groups. It doesn\x92t even recognize -ODMT, or -ODMTr. I had to \x93contract label.\x94 This is such a common protecting group. Am I missing something here or does everyone have to do this???

ChemDraw includes a nickname Dmt [for bis(4-methoxyphenyl)methane]
Since you are trying with a nicknames, which are not listed in ChemDraw, you didn't get the structure. You can add the required structures with a nickname.
You will find the list of Nick name provided along with ChemDraw by selecting "List Nick Names" from the ChemDraw File menu. You can create nick names using “Define Nickname” function which is present in the Structure menu.
