ChemDraw editing in MS Office not working on MacOS
Hi,
When I paste from ChemDraw into MS Word or MS Powerpoint, the ChemDraw is exported as a pdf image that is not editable.
When I try to edit by double clicking on a ChemDraw that has been previously pasted into MS Powerpoint on a different computer, I receive the error message: "The server application, source file or item can't be found, or returned an unknown error. You may need to reinstall the server application."
I have MacOS Catalina version 10.15.3. MS Office 365 version 16.34. Initially I tried this with ChemDraw Professional 16.0. I uninstalled ChemDraw Professional 16.0 and reinstalled it. After that did not work I installed Chemdraw 19.0.1.32, it still does not paste ChemDraw structures the correct way.
Thank you in advance,

Actually Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac update (16.9 released on January 16th 2016) has broken the round trip editing for ChemDraw. Copying and pasting structures from ChemDraw into Word, and then copying and pasting back into ChemDraw results in only the image being pasted back into Word. Round-trip editing with MS Word 2016 works after updating to version 16.11.1 (180319). Unfortunately, Microsoft addressed this issue on Word only. This is not fixed for Excel nor PowerPoint at this time.
We are still working with Microsoft in order to have this solution implemented for remaining two applications. You will get more information from the following FAQ
